Maurice Shows His Face
in a shamelessly self-glorifying way. I'm well aware that nobody is actually interested, but that never stopped me before from doing anything.
So click here and visit The Maurice Dekker Photo Gallery, which also contains pictures of my cats!
So, what other things of interest shall I tell you about myself? Well, my favourite films of all time are (indeed), The English Patient and Star Wars; The Empire Strikes Back (just like the other 2 Star Wars films). And as Star Wars fan (of sorts), I'm of course closely following the development of Episode I. If you're curious, try the official Star Wars website's information on Episode I, or take a look at JediNet's Prequel Watch.
Click the Top 12 films to see what films I loved best.
My favourite book is (also) Michael Ondaatje's The English Patient with Julian Barnes's Flaubert's Parrot and of course Leonard Cohen's Beautiful Losers as runners up.
My Top 12 books will tell you what I think are the best books I've read.
Poetry-wise I'm not that well-versed (ouch!), but I really loved Leonard Cohen's Death of a Lady's Man (not to be confused with the album with the similar name of Death of a Ladies Man).
As far as music is concerned, there's (again) Leonard Cohen, together with Pulp (His 'N' Hers must be the best album released in the 90s) Neil Young, and of course The Beatles (your life will never be the same after listening to Revolver and realising everything you've always listened to has been done before - by the Beatles).

The Whose Links? page will guide you to websites on these people and things, which are well worth checking out.
Oh, and lest I should forget, I'm also a great fan of The Far Side and, especially, Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes. I would recommend all and any of those books to anyone with even an ounce of humour.
And gee! there's still more to me, but most importantly, I play the guitar (see also the Play Me A Song pages) and although I sometimes get chords from OLGA and the like, they're often dead wrong. A good example is Radiohead's Exit Music (For a Film) which, if you want to know the chords to it, you can get by clicking the title.

And I like films. Well, usually anyway, in a meta kind of way. I mean, the last Great Film I saw was The English Patient which is years ago, and although there have been some okay/good films that I saw since (not mentioned here), there isn't much, though I do always like to watch a film.
Therefore I have simply made a small list of films I have not seen, but would like to see, called Watch That Film.
And for all those crap films that exist and are still being made (oh, the humanity!), I have drawn up ten commandments which I would like to see imposed on films and filmmakers, and which you can view by clicking The Ten Commandments for Films and Filmmakers.

For those who have IE4, or in any other way can view Microsoft's Java-dialect gibberish, there's also the
Gallery page. Actually, it's not much of a gallery, but it'll also tell you something about me. I think.
